Although our rescue was operated on an informal basis for a number of years, we began to grow and were finally incorporated in July 2003, and received our 501(c)3 tax-exempt status shortly thereafter.
We do not operate a traditional kennel facility. All of the Dobermans in our rescue program are housed in approved foster homes – living as members of their foster families until permanent adopters come forward to give them “forever” homes. While in their foster homes, the dogs are evaluated for temperament, housetrained, crate-trained and taught basic manners. They are brought up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested (and treated if necessary) and any other correctable medical problems are addressed.
We have dedicated ourselves to rescuing Dobermans because we have an undying love for the breed, and we strive to save as many homeless Dobes as we possibly can. Our staff work tirelessly toward that goal. But the number of dogs we are able to save is directly dependent on public support by caring individuals who share our love for Dobermans.drnc@hope4dobe.org
